Policy update notificationsDocumentation requirements for cremation of exhumed remains In the majority of cases where exhumed remains are to be cremated, it is not possible for the funeral director to meet the documentation requirements set out under section 131 of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003. In these circumstances, approval to cremate the exhumed remains will be provided by the Department of Health by way of a special condition of the Exhumation Licence. No other documentation of any kind is required. For more detail please view the notice below.
