HealthSMART Services
Overview
HealthSMART Services brings information communications technology to the Victorian public health sector creating state-wide coordinated and integrated information systems that benefit the sector, its patients and clients and the state of Victoria.
HealthSMART Services is responsible for the operational aspects and the day-to-day delivery of the HealthSMART applications and agreed service levels. HealthSMART also integrates and supports the end-to-end infrastructure supporting the applications.
HealthSMART Services plans, builds, runs and supports the infrastructure on which the HealthSMART applications are delivered. It is focussed on providing high quality, cost effective services and maximising the benefits of sharing technology and centralised support. HealthSMART Services’ core deliverables include:
- 24x7 help desk providing support for each of the core applications
- Technical infrastructure, network services, integration services and technical support
- Hosting of two data centres
- Disaster Recovery capabilities
- Provision of continuous access to production environments
The HealthSMART Services team is comprised of five core functions, namely, Operations, Application Support, Planning and Reporting, Technical Capability and Client and Business Services. HealthSMART Services is based at 55 Collins Street Melbourne, and currently employs about 80 people. HealthSMART Services is growing in parallel with agency service uptake.
As at October 2009, HealthSMART Services provides support to 37 production clients across the finance and materials information management system, the patient and client management system and the client management system and approximately 32,500 users.
