1. TAC Admitted Patients

  1. Acute

    Department of Human Services has requested that Allegiance commence issuing TAC admitted patient statements for the first quarter of 2001/2002. That is, all admitted patient statements will be generated from 1 July to 30 September, 2001 at the base rate of $2011 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES9). This process will not require the hospital to retransmit separation details for TAC patients in order to generate statements. (Note: Any new records transmitted for the first quarter will also result in automatic statement generation).

    Once admitted patient statements have been received, hospitals may invoice TAC for first quarter activity.

    TAC and the Department have yet to determine the new schedule of rates for activity on or after 1 October, 2001. Therefore admitted patient statements will not be generated until further notice. Refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 29 (Item 29.10.1).

  2. Sub-Acute (Rehabilitation) fees

    Department of Human Services advises that hospitals may invoice TAC relating to rehabilitation services for the first quarter of 2001/2002. That is, all separations relating to rehabilitation services from 1 July to 30 September, 2001 can be invoiced at the following rates:

    • Level 1 (Care Type 2): $360 per day
    • Level 2 (Care Type 6): $300 per day
    • Level 3 (Care Type 7): $300 per day

    TAC and the Department have yet to determine the new schedule of rates for activity on or after 1 October, 2001. Hospitals are requested not to invoice TAC until further notice.

2. TAC Non-Admitted Patients

  1. Compensable Non-admitted Patient Fees

    Department of Human Services advises that hospitals may invoice TAC relating to all non-admitted services undertaken from 1 July to 30 September, 2001 at the rates currently listed refer to at HDSS Bulletin Issue 20 (Item 20.18).

    TAC and the Department have also determined the new schedule of rates for activity on or after 1 October, 2001. For detailed information on Schedule of Fees please refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 29 (Item 29.11).

3. VWA Admitted/Non-Admitted Patients

Department of Human Services is yet to finalise fees and charges negotiations with VWA for 2001-2002.

All Victorian public hospitals are therefore instructed not to invoice VWA until further notice for:
