1. TAC Admitted Patients Fees and Invoice Processing for 2001-2002
Admitted Patients
The Department of Human Services has agreed to extend existing TAC admitted patient fees for the second quarter of 2001-2002. First quarter arrangements were previously advised in HDSS Bulletin 29 (Item 29.10.1).
Similar processes for invoicing apply for the second quarter as detailed below.
Acute
All admitted patient statements generated for 1 October 2001 to 31 December 2001 separations will be at the base rate of $2011 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES9).
In mid-December 2001, Allegiance produced a batch of statements for 2001-2002 second quarter data received up to the December 2001 consolidation (N.B. this process did not require the hospital to retransmit separation details for TAC patients in order to generate statements). Any new or amended second quarter records transmitted following the batch run will result in automatic admitted patient statement generation. Once admitted patient statements have been received, hospitals may invoice TAC for second quarter activity.
TAC and the Department have yet to determine the new schedule of rates for the third quarter onwards. Therefore admitted patient statements for separations occurring on or after 1 January 2002 will not be generated until further notice.
Sub-Acute (Rehabilitation) fees
The Department advises that hospitals may invoice TAC relating to rehabilitation services for the second quarter of 2001-2002. That is, all separations relating to rehabilitation services from 1 October 2001 to 31 December 2001 can be invoiced at the following rates:
Level 1 (Care Type 2): $360 per day
Level 2 (Care Type 6): $300 per day
Level 3 (Care Type 7): $300 per day
TAC and the Department have yet to determine the new schedule of rates for activity on or after 1 January 2002. Hospitals are requested not to invoice TAC for rehabilitation activity on or after 1 January 2002 until further notice (refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 30 (Item 30.4) at HDSS Bulletin Issue 30 (Item 30.4).
