Overview

The Your Pregnancy section of this website has been compiled by a project team consisting of consumers and clinicians from the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Royal Women’s Hospital.

An expert group of obstetricians, midwives and consumers conducted a review of resources and information on pregnancy and birth care. Topics were selected topics for this section based on appropriateness and interest/relevance to the consumer.  Your Pregnancy aims to provide consumers with the most up-to-date and evidence-based information on pregnancy and care during pregnancy.

The information presented here is from a range of large scale, high quality, reliable research (high level evidence). It does not include small studies or those considered to be less reliable.

Evidence considered for inclusion about the selected topics has been taken from resources such as United Kingdom Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), Cochrane systematic reviews, Australian / Victorian government endorsed fact sheets, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) statements and specialist organisation web sites.

All of the information on this site is provided for women at low risk of developing complications during pregnancy and birth.
