QualityCast series goes live

The Department of Health’s Victorian Quality Council (VQC) have released their first ever podcast series, QualityCast.
The new series of six podcasts will be released progressively on a weekly basis with all the topics tying in, in some way, with the VQC's strategic objectives.
Topics to be covered in the QualityCast series include:
- TeamSTEPPS
- inter-hospital patient transfer
- clinical leadership
- health literacy
- open disclosure
- patient safety climate survey.
All six podcasts, which run on average for around 15 minutes, may be used as part of a training program or as a way of introducing the inexperienced to a new topic.
The first QualityCast podcast released is on TeamSTEPPS. The VQC is currently running a pilot program of the TeamSTEPP program in health service sites across Victoria.
The TeamSTEPP program is an evidence-based teamwork training system designed to improve collaboration, communication and patient safety within health care organisations.
This QualityCast series will be evaluated and if successful will continue to run 2011.
What is the VQC?
The VQC is responsible for fostering quality health services in Victoria by working with stakeholders to develop useful tools and strategies to improve health service safety and quality.
