The Victorian Quality Council is pleased to announce the Victorian Travelling Fellowship Program is now accepting applications for the 2011-12 funding round from Monday 14 February until Monday 28 March 2011.
The Victorian Travelling Fellowship Program, a joint initiative of the Victorian Quality Council and the Department of Health, offers emerging leaders in health care quality and safety an exciting opportunity to undertake international travel to investigate new and innovative approaches to addressing priority quality and safety issues.
Employees of health care organisations that receive funding wholly or in part from the Victorian Government, including Victorian Government employees, are eligible to apply. This includes officers of the Department of Health and Department of Human Services. Applicants must have the endorsement of their CEO or other person with appropriate delegation in order for their application to be considered.
The 2011-12 Victorian Travelling Fellowship Program:
- offers six fellowships on a range of topics strategically aligned with priority quality and safety issues
- provides a maximum of AUD $20,000 for each fellow to undertake international investigations on their specific topic
- allows for up to 12 weeks travel to be undertaken anytime within the 12-month travel period.
In addition to two open topics, the current funding round focuses on patient-centred care, clinical leadership, management of people with chronic conditions in the community and best practice in primary and community care.
