Guidelines for pest control operators in Victoria

The Guidelines for pest control operators in Victoria (the Guidelines) provide information about the pest control licence, issued by the Department of Health (the department) under section 101 of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (the Act).

The Guidelines aim to assist the pest control industry in complying with the legislation under which they are regulated, mainly the Act and the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009 (the Regulations).

The Act requires individual pest control operators to be licensed unless the pesticide is being used for certain specified purposes that do not involve a significant risk to public health.

Licensing of the pest control industry is designed to protect pest control operators, consumers, members of the public and the environment from harmful effects of pesticides.
