Safety and Quality Education programBackground:Following a broad gap analysis of safety and quality education in Victoria, the VQC developed an outline for a multidisciplinary safety and quality education program aimed at acute based clinical middle managers, including medical registrars, nurse unit managers, and allied health managers. The University of Sydney’s Centre for Innovation in Professional Health Education (CIPHE) was contracted to develop the program and delivered an education model built on three key stages:
Current status:The Australian Institute for Primary Care, Latrobe University, delivered the program across three pilot sites representing metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria: Western Health, Wimmera Health Care Group and Colac Area Health. The pilot has been evaluated for appropriateness and effectivenes by DBM Consultants Pty Ltd. The pilot is now completed. |
