Rural Collaborative Practice ModelPage contents: Overview | DLA Phillips Fox report on the medico-legal implications of the Collaborative Practice Model | Download documents OverviewThe Rural Collaborative Practice Model Pilot aims to introduce a new collaborative practice model of care into a selection of rural hospitals and a bush nursing centre to deliver sustainable and safe emergency care in rural Victoria. Primary Clinical Care Manual (Queensland Health website) DLA Phillips Fox report on the medico-legal implications of the Collaborative Practice ModelDLA Phillips Fox was commissioned to write a report on the medico-legal implications of the Rural Collaborative Practice Model (RCPM). The report addresses the range of questions raised by people participating in the RCPM Pilot in 2007-08, in particular the medico-legal implications of advancing the clinical practice of registered nurses and of a more collaborative, team-based model of care. The report provides a thorough analysis of the medico-legal issues relating to the Collaborative Practice Model and consideration of strategies to manage these issues. While this report provides a very helpful reference, it does not replace the need for health services to seek their own legal advice with respect to the medico-legal issues that are particular to their context of practice."
