About the Wellbeing Strategy
The Wellbeing Promotion Office was established in 2022 to lead a statewide approach to mental health promotion and prevention of mental distress. One of its key priorities is to develop Victoria’s first Wellbeing Strategy.
This strategy will provide a coordinated approach that shifts the focus of the mental health and wellbeing system from treatment and care towards prevention, mental health promotion and healing.
How we engaged
Between July 2022 and February 2023, we consulted with more than 1000 Victorians. This helped to better understand the wellbeing needs and perspectives of a wide range of people and develop shared priorities to support the wellbeing of everyone in Victoria.
Hundreds of community members, services providers, and sector and government representatives contributed to this work. They shared stories of discrimination and struggle, as well as stories of persistence, strength and hope. Every story shared has contributed to the creation of this strategy.
You can download the What we Heard report from Engage to read more about our engagement outcomes.
What's next
The insights shared through engagement activities will inform the development of a Wellbeing Strategy that reflects the needs, aspirations and priorities of Victorians.
This work is being guided by an Expert Advisory Committee.
