On 15 May 2018 the then Minister for Health, the Hon Jill Hennessy MP, referred conversion practices to the Health Complaints Commissioner for inquiry under the Health Complaints Act 2016.
On 21 December 2018 the Health Complaints Commissioner provided the Minister for Health with the Report on the Inquiry into Conversion Therapy.
During the inquiry people who had experienced conversion practices were asked to come forward confidentially to report their experience. The full report will not be released to protect the privacy and anonymity of victims and survivors who contributed their experiences into the inquiry.
