The doctors in training secondment agreement template was first developed in 2013. It outlines the terms and conditions for a temporary transfer of a doctor in training from a parent hospital to a secondment hospital.
The revised template includes:
- Obligations under the Doctors in Training (Victorian Public Health Sector) (AMA Victoria/ASMOF) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026.
- Changes to the Fair Work Act 2009 and other laws.
The revised template also includes feedback from a working group comprised of industrial associations and the Department of Health.
The template does not provide the terms and conditions of employment. The parent hospital enters a separate employment contract with the doctor in training.
Use of the Secondment Agreement is not mandatory. However, the Department of Health strongly encourages its use.
