This review was undertaken by the National Ageing Research Institute, commissioned by the Victorian Department of Human Services, as part of an overarching strategy for implementing Improving care for older people: a policy for health Services, launched in 2003. A key principle of this policy is 'involving older people and carers'. With this in mind, this review aimed to investigate existing literature surrounding a number of questions relating to person-centred health care.
