The department facilitates the development of statewide referral criteria bringing together hospital heads of units, nursing and allied health clinicians with community-based clinicians and Primary Health Network representatives to collaborate and identify statewide referral criteria for each clinical specialty.
Statewide referral criteria for paediatric medicine are under development.
