- Assessment of suspected malignancy
- Thyroid mass associated with mild to moderate compressive symptoms
- Thyroid mass associated with hyperthyroidism.

Information that must be provided
- Ultrasound with, or without, fine needle aspiration results
- Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (T4) results.
