International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT)

International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) is the global knowledge network for Transfusion Medicine. ISBT has been bringing transfusion professionals together to improve transfusion safety worldwide since 1935. ISBT promotes research and best practice in all areas across the transfusion chain through scientific working parties, and provides education in transfusion medicine through congresses, webinars, live journal clubs, workshops, publications and e-Learning.

Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) and Blood Conference

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) comprises over 400 members from diverse scientific, medical and nursing backgrounds working within the area of blood transfusion and related fields.

ANZSBT's mission is to enhance patient safety, optimising blood utilisation and promoting excellence in transfusion throughout Australia and New Zealand through the delivery of rigorous standards, continuous learning and effective communication.

The Blood Conference is the combined Annual Scientific Meeting of:

  • Australia and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT).
  • Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ).
  • Thrombosis and Haemostasis Society of Australia and New Zealand (THANZ).

National Immunohaematology Continuing Education (NICE)

The annual National Immunohaematology Continuing Education (NICE) conference is a scientific meeting bringing together immunohaematology enthusiasts from all over the country to share knowledge, experience and opinions. All attendees must present a 5-minute presentation (or 10-minute shared presentation with a colleague).

Blood Safe eLearning Australia

Online education in transfusion practice and patient blood management is available on the BloodSafe eLearning AustraliaExternal Link website.

All courses are based on published guidelines, evidence-based practice and expert opinion, and provide up to date information for health professionals.
