Training and development review health workforce survey

11/09/24

The Department of Health has partnered with Nous Group and the University of Melbourne to review the current approach to funding Training and Development (T&D) across Victoria. The department currently administers $235 million in core recurrent T&D funding, and a further $105 million in time-limited funding.

The review will explore multiple streams of funding associated with the following T&D programs:

  • professional-entry student (clinical) placements
  • transition to practice – early graduate positions
  • postgraduate positions
  • continuing education grants
  • other targeted workforce training and development programs, including to grow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and mental health and wellbeing workforces.

The review team surveyed Victoria's public health and mental health workforce to understand whether these T&D programs and the department's funding arrangements are achieving their intended outcomes.

The survey is now closed. Thank you to those who took part. If you have any questions or feedback, contact the review team at TDfundingreview@nousgroup.com or the department directly at T/Dreviewproject@health.vic.gov.au.
