Patient experience in emergency departments

Providing good quality care that meets the needs of patients is a key objective in Victoria’s emergency departments.

Initiatives designed to improve the emergency department patient experience include strategies to better inform patients and their carers about their care, physical improvements to make waiting rooms more comfortable and improved procedures for monitoring waiting room patients.
