Registered health service establishments in Victoria must comply with minimum regulations for patient safety and care.
There are processes to:
- register a health service establishment
- renew, vary or transfer registration
- build or renovate a private hospital or day procedure centre.

Sunset review of the Health Services (Health Service Establishments) Regulations 2013
Following consultation with stakeholders regarding the review of the Health Services (Health Service Establishment) Regulations 2013, a regulatory impact statement (RIS) has been prepared along with proposed regulations. The RIS and proposed regulations are now open for public comment.
