The Chief Health Officer (CHO) has recognised a number of 'Immuniser programs of study' in Victoria. Some programs are Health Education Services Australia (HESA) AccreditedExternal Link against the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals.

Registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioner (ATSIHP) may complete any CHO-recognised 'Immuniser program of study', if the education provider offers the program to registered ATSIHPs.

Registered ATSIHP immunisers must successfully complete any mandated training modules for vaccines that are not included within a CHO-recognised ‘Immuniser program of study’ before administering these vaccines.

Recognised programs of study provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the role of an immuniser in Victoria and assist them in developing the knowledge and clinical skills required to safely deliver an immunisation service.
