Cooling tower systems – registration fees and refunds

You must pay the registration fee when your application is approved by the department.

The registration fees are charged per cooling tower.

It is an offence to operate an unregistered cooling tower.

Cooling tower registration fees are exempt of GST under Division 81 of the Goods and Services Act 1999.

To obtain a refund, you must complete the online refund form. You are required to provide proof of any payment/s in support of your application.

The department will fully refund the registration fee for an application that is refused or withdrawn prior to the issue of the registration.
The department will refund, in full, any over-payment.
The department is unable to process refunds amounting to less than $2.
Once a licence has been issued, no refunds will be granted in the event of applicant or licence holder requests to change the licence duration.
Where approved, refunds will be issued to the individual or company proven to have made the payment.
Where bank details are provided on the online refund form, refunds will be issued via EFT.
Refunds can take up to 60 days to be issued following receipt of a completed application.
The department will accept applications for a refund up to 12 months after the date of payment.
